"Music transcends barriers among people
Slow, soft songs...eyes are sad and misty
Fast songs... eyes are sparkling
Old familiar songs... eyes are dreamy
Witty songs... eyes are laughing
Religious songs... eyes are wistful
When listening to our own music, we are all one."
A "system of vibrational sound healing rooted in Oriental Medicine and philosophy that utilizes tuning forks and symphonic gongs tuned to the planets, Tibetan bowls, bells drums, and rattles. Connecting body, mind, and soul in the journey toward optimal health and spiritual attunement or at-one-ment with all things in the Universe.
The primary focus of our work is the application of tuning forks, tuned to the frequencies of the earth, moon, sun and planets to acupuncture points, trigger points, and points of pain. The creative and cross-disciplinary way in which we use tuning forks, the frequencies that we work with, and the depth of the methodology that has developed is unique to the Acutonics System. In the therapeutic environment we also utilize Planetary Gongs, Tibetan Bowls, drums, rattles, and fine classical music that evokes the archetypal and mythic qualities of the planets. Music of Lincoln and the Civil War, with The Federal City Brass Band
Founded in 2002, The Federal City Brass Band accurately recreates the sound and appearance of a Union Army regimental brass band of the 1860s.
The instruments and mouthpieces used by The Federal City Brass Band are
originals dating to the mid-19th century, and come from the collections of band
members. Sources of the music the band plays include original band journals
and sheet music of the Civil War era. The uniforms worn by bandsmen are
reproductions based on originals and made from the closest comparable wool
and cotton fabrics, in some cases using vegetable dyes and original recipes
from 19th century mills.

TOSCA
Giacomo Puccini
Friday, March 12, 2010 8:00 pm
Sunday, March 14, 2010 3:00 pm
Sung in Italian with English surtitles, Tosca is the story of passion set against the perils of war, as Napoleon advances toward Rome. Political intrigue, jealousy, trickery and mistrust combine to hold the audience’s attention as Puccini’s melodious score weaves a tale of love, lust and murder. Maestro Ron Gretz conducts the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra.
